Solihull Moors were brought back down to earth on Friday night as they suffered a 4–1 defeat away to Yeovil Town, just three days after finally securing their first league win of the season.
Chris Millington's side had beaten Barrow 1–0 at Damson Park on Tuesday to end a run of seven games without a victory.
But they were unable to build on that result at Huish Park, with Yeovil taking control after Ryan Jones opened the scoring in the 15th minute.
The hosts doubled their advantage shortly after half-time when Slavi Spasov capitalised on a defensive mistake to make it 2–0.
The Moors were handed a route back into the game in the 70th minute when an own goal reduced the deficit to 2–1.
However, the response did not last long. Johl Powell restored Yeovil's two-goal advantage in the 88th minute before adding his second deep into stoppage time to complete a 4–1 victory.
The defeat means the Moors have now lost six of their first eight National League matches, with their only league win coming against Barrow on Tuesday.
It was another difficult evening for Millington's side after what had briefly looked like a turning point earlier in the week.
The Moors will now have to wait until next weekend for their next opportunity to respond.
